Vision Statement

It’s time to stop talking. Now it’s time to take action; action that drives measurable results that not only increase the participation of women in the workforce but also their advancement.

The 2015 ACCJ Women in Business Summit is focused on providing individuals, companies, government and educational institutes with examples of actions that make a real difference to women in the workforce.

Join us on Monday, June 29th, 2015 to hear from leaders in industry and government as they share their learnings and actions that have improved gender diversity and increased opportunities for women.

1. To provide a vehicle to launch and build on the ACCJ Women in Business White Paper topics and messaging.

2. To focus on practical and action-oriented examples of how to achieve results in obtaining greater participation and advancement of women in the workforce – turning strategies into action. We will do this by providing details of case studies and examples from companies and other countries that have achieved measurable results

3. To engage the following stakeholder groups:
- Private enterprise (management);
- government (policymakers and leaders);
- education (professors and deans); and
- individuals (employees and entrepreneurs).

1. To cover the whole of the career lifecycle from:
- Entry and re-entry to the workforce (e.g. career planning and preparation at schools and university, on and off boarding [parental and elderly])
- Advancement through career (e.g. sponsorship, mentoring, learning and development)
- Operating at senior leadership and Board level (e.g. leadership, networking)

2. Given the practical nature of the Summit, the approach is focused on more and preferably smaller breakout and working sessions with less plenary/open forums
